Who we are

Meet the team
Everyone here is after the same thing: a day that stays possible. For an older adult, for someone living with a disability, and for the person helping them. Independence is worth protecting. We do what we can to keep it.
Making independence something you can reach
How Oak & Ease started
The company was founded in 2008 for a plain reason: daily life was getting harder for people losing independence, for people with a disability, and for the families next to them. Too many of them were left to figure it out alone.
The name is the job in two words. Oak, for something that holds. Ease, for a day that takes less out of you. The products are small, practical pieces of equipment that give a gesture back. Little things that change the rest of the day.
It started as a blog, a paper catalog, and people on the phone. Today the team is about 25, and the shop lists more than 7,000 products. The work is the same as it was on day one: a home that fits the person living in it.

Thibaut, founder
Thibaut has carried the idea since the beginning. From the first articles to the company it is now, he has stayed on the same job: independence that people can actually reach. He is in the warehouse, on the phone, and on the floor when a product needs another look. The team is lucky to have him.

A team, and a family
Behind the site is a group of about 25 people. They find the right equipment, put it online, welcome people in the showroom, advise them by phone, take the orders, pack them, and stay available after the box arrives. Every step has to land cleanly, so the team stays close: human, open, patient, warm, and more like a family than a call center. Customers feel looked after here. So do we.
The warehouse is in the building
The warehouse sits next to the offices, so a product can be tried the day it arrives and an order can leave without a detour. That is how the team checks that a piece actually does the job before it is offered.
The same building is the showroom in Bondues, in northern France. People walk in, try what they need, and take it home the same day. US orders leave that warehouse and reach a US address in 7–12 business days. Free shipping on orders over $200.

Someone who picks up
The advisors know the equipment, and they keep learning it. A question about a product, a quote, an order, or something that arrived wrong: call, or write.

Come try it in the showroom
The showroom is open to families and to professionals. Hundreds of aids are set up in rooms that look like a home, so you can try a chair, a bed, or a walker the way you would use it, with someone from the team next to you.
If you are in the US, we do that conversation by phone and ship from the same building.

It started as a blog
In 2008 Thibaut Delloye started a blog. There was nothing to buy on the site yet. There were articles. The shop, the catalog, and the phone line grew out of those pages. The writing is still how the team explains a product before anyone has to guess.
A paper catalog, when a screen is the wrong tool
Paper is easier for some people. Ask for the catalog and we mail it. It has the favorites, comparison charts, advice, and what just arrived.

Products are chosen after customers and specialists have used them. The bar is simple: it has to work, it has to be useful, and it has to be practical in a real home. It should also look like it belongs there.
