This electrical outlet riser comes from work shared by occupational therapists and a young designer in France.

The goal was to cut the risk of falls when someone who is unsteady has to unplug a device from an outlet that is often close to the floor.

The unit mounts with four screws (included) and plugs into a standard outlet.

The design is clever: a hook at the top of the center plastic channel holds the cord at the right height when you unplug, so you do not have to pick it up off the floor.

 

This compact piece of adaptive equipment is a strong fit if balance is a concern, if gripping is difficult, or if you can use only one arm (thanks to the push button).

You can order more than one and place them in different rooms (bedroom, kitchen, garage, and more).
