It has worked very well since it was set up (use good-quality ALKALINE batteries). Separate power for the clock and the calendar. CAUTION! For startup... read the instructions carefully first... I preferred to set the calendar and the time before putting the batteries in (avoids damaging the flap gears). Then you have to fine-tune it for the change to the next day with the clock... it changes day at midnight. JJ-G
